★ The stone – Lapis Lazuli:
– natural birthstone of those born in spring (February 19 – March 19),
– zodiac stone of Sagittarius (21 Nov – 21 Dec),
– stone of third eye and throat chakra

★ Lapis lazuli in ancient Egypt:
In ancient Egypt, pharaohs favored lapis lazuli. The Egyptians utilized this stone in artwork, amulets, jewelry, and cosmetics.

☆ Goddess crystal:

– Isis: As a stone of heaven, it is only natural that the Egyptians would use lapis lazuli to honor the Egyptian Sky Goddess Isis, who is considered to be omniscient, all-knowing, and all-seeing.
They used this stone to portray the hair and adornments of the heavenly Goddess Isis indicates how much their culture truly cherished the metaphysical powers of lapis lazuli.

– Hathor: Hathor was known as the Mother of Mothers and the Celestial Nurse who presided over women, fertility, children and childbirth.
She was a celestial goddess, The Mistress of Heaven, goddess of beauty. A Goddess of love, music and beauty as the Goddess of Love, Cheerfulness, Music and Dance.
She was a goddess of the west and a goddess of Punt and Sinai. This meant she was a goddess of far off places. This is perhaps why Hathor was also known as the “Lady to the Limit”. The Egyptians believed her to be a goddess who rules over the known universe.

– Maat: Judges in Ancient Egypt had to wear small Lapis Lazuli pendants of Maat, goddess of truth, on gold chains, as a sign of the responsibility of their office. The chief justice of Egypt also wore the Eye of Maat when he rendered judgments.

– Nuit: It was thought to be sacred to the Nuit of the heavens, the star goddess.

★ Chakra crystal:

☆ Lapis lazuli – Stone of the Vishuddha or Throat Chakra:
– Colour: blue (turquoise blue or aquamarine blue)
– Location:
at the center of the neck at the level of the throat.
– Stones associated: Aquamarine, Turquoise, Amazonite, Lapis lazuli

Throat chakra meaning: The function of the Throat chakra is driven by the principle of expression and communication. It is the centre of communication, sound and expression of creativity via thought, speech and writing.
The chakra is about the expression of yourself: Your truth, purpose in life, creativity. Note that this chakra has a natural connection with the second chakra or sacral chakra, center of emotions and creativity as well. The throat chakra’s emphasis is on expressing and projecting the creativity into the world according to its perfect form or authenticity.
Another function is to connect you to spirit. Opening the throat chakra can greatly help align your vision with reality and release pressure that may affect the heart chakra that is located just below. When energy flows freely, one will be open to new experiences, be able to express themselves and stand up for their beliefs.

The chakra is associated with the following psychological and behavioral characteristics:
– Expression, in particular to express your truth, to speak out
– Communication, whether it’s verbal or non-verbal, external or internal
– Connection with the etheric realm, the more subtle realms of spirit and intuitive abilities
– Propensity to create, projecting ideas and blueprints into reality
– Realizing your vocation, purpose
– Good sense of timing

It provides energy to the thyroid gland, it regulates the processing of energy in the body through temperature, growth, and metabolism, hunger and thirst.
The chakra is associated to the the pharyngeal, it governs ears, eyes, nose, mouth, tongue, jaws and throat, the bronchial passages, the lungs, esophagus, vocal cords and speech. It’s is also linked to the shoulders and the neck.

Chakra imbalance: A blocked throat chakra can contribute to feelings of insecurity, timidity, and introversion. An overactive throat chakra may also lead to gossiping, nonstop talking, and being verbally aggressive or mean. It can seem as though the filter between the discourse you have in your mind and what comes out of your mouth is not working, or missing entirely.

When the throat chakra has an imbalance, it can manifest as:
– Lack of control over one’s speech; speaking too much or inappropriately;
– Not being able to listen to others
– Excessive fear of speaking
– Small, imperceptible voice
– Not being able to keep secrets, or to keep your word
– Telling lies
– A closed throat chakra might manifest as excessive secretiveness or shyness
– Lack of connection with a vocation or purpose in life

☆ Lapis lazuli – Stone of the Sixth Chakra, Ajna / Third Eye / Forehead Chakra:
– Colour: violet, indigo or purple, bluish purple.
– Location: on the forehead between the eyebrows, slightly above at the bridge of your nose.
– Meaning: the center of intuition and foresight.
– Stones associated: Lapis Lazuli, Amethyst, Sapphire

The function of the third eye chakra is driven by the principle of openness and imagination.
It is the centre of psychic power and higher intuition. It assists in the purification of negative tendencies and the elimination of selfish attitudes. It is the center where we transcend duality – the duality of a personal “I” separate from the rest of the world, of a personality that exists independently from everything else.

The third eye chakra is an instrument to perceive the more subtle qualities of reality. It goes beyond the physical senses into the realm of subtle energies. Awakening your third eye allows you to open up to an intuitive sensibility and inner perception.
Because it connects us with a different way of seeing and perceiving, the third eye chakra’s images are often hard to describe verbally. It puts us in touch with the ineffable and the intangible more closely. Third eye visions are also often more subtle than regular visions: They may appear a bit “blurry”, ghost-like, cloudy, or dream-like. Sometimes however, the inner visions might be clear like a movie playing in front of your eyes.

Sustaining awareness of third eye chakra energy might require focus and the ability to relax into a different way of seeing. When we focus our mind and consciousness, we can see beyond the distractions and illusions that stand before us and have more insight to live and create more deeply aligned with our highest good.
When energy flows freely, one’s understanding becomes broad and deep. Such an individual sees themselves and the world clearly and can rely on their own intuitive sense.

The chakra is associated with the following psychological and behavioral characteristics:
– Vision
– Intuition
– Perception of subtle dimensions and movements of energy
– Psychic abilities related to clairvoyance and clairaudience especially
– Access to mystical states, illumination
– Connection to wisdom, insight
– Motivates inspiration and creativity

The Third eye chakra is associated to the pineal gland in charge of regulating biorhythms, including sleep and wake time. It’s positioned close to the optical nerves, and as such, sensitive to visual stimulations and changes in lighting. It is linked to the eyes, nose, face and senses.

When the chakra has an imbalance, it can manifest as:
– Feeling stuck in the daily grind without being able to look beyond your problems and set a guiding vision for yourself
– Not being able to establish a vision for oneself and realize it
– Rejection of everything spiritual or beyond the usual
– Not being able to see the greater picture
– Lack of clarity
– Overactive, without support from the rest of the chakra system: fantasies that appear more real than reality, indulgence in psychic fantasies and illusions.
